Volunteer School Governors - Great Western Academy
Could you make a difference to the future of our school?
Great Western Academy is seeking enthusiastic, committed individuals to join our Governing Board as voluntary Governors.
Our Governors play a vital strategic role in supporting and challenging school leaders, helping to shape the future of the Academy and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our students.
We are keen to hear from people with a range of professional skills, experience and perspectives who can think strategically, work collaboratively and are passionate about education.
The role involves attending six full Governing Body meetings each year, lasting around two hours, together with six smaller committee meetings, often held via Teams. Governors are also encouraged to attend school events to gain a wider understanding of school life.
Great Western Academy opened in 2018 and is now a thriving secondary school and Sixth Form serving the North Swindon community. Our vision is centred on Achievement, Care and Excellence (ACE), with learners at the heart of everything we do.
