We're looking for a friendly, reliable person to join our School Crossing Patrol team and help keep children and families safe on their journey to and from school. What you'll do As a School Crossing Patrol Officer, you'll be a familiar and trusted presence outside local schools, helping children, parents and other pedestrians cross the road safely. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising school crossings and ensuring they operate safely and effectively.
  • Helping children, families and members of the public cross roads safely.
  • Following road safety procedures and Highway Code guidance.
  • Providing a welcoming, professional and customer-focused service.
  • Being a positive and reassuring presence within the local community.

  • Be comfortable working outdoors throughout the year and in all weather conditions.
  • Be able to stand roadside for periods of time and maintain good awareness of road safety.
  • What we're looking for You don't need previous experience as a School Crossing Patrol Officer. We'll provide the training and support you need to succeed. We're particularly interested in hearing from people who have:
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Good road awareness and common sense.
  • The ability to supervise children and adults safely.
  • A commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • A genuine desire to help others and contribute to their local community.
