Full Job Description
We have a vacancy for a permanent part-time School Crossing Patrol officer. Your role will be to ensure the safety of adult and child pedestrians crossing the road at designated crossing points during specified times. This vacancy is to work on St Cuthberts Way/Sheraton Road, Newton Aycliffe. The hours of duty to be worked each week [term-time only] are:- Monday to Friday Morning: 8.25 - 9.00 am Afternoon: 2.50 - 3.40 pm Total: 1hr 25mins daily / 7hrs 05mins weekly]. Upon success you will receive full training, a uniform, and an appropriate retainer payment during school holidays. You will also be required to attend medical assessments as part of the job role as required.

- Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years' service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years' service will receive 32 days annual leave. For example: Calculation for employees with less than 5 years' service: 38 weeks (term time) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 45 weeks' pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments Calculation for employees with more than 5 years' service: 38 weeks (term time) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 46 weeks' pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
