School Caretaker

As a School Caretaker, you will play an important role in ensuring the school site is safe, clean, secure, and well-maintained throughout the day. You will support the smooth running of the school by carrying out general caretaking duties and responding to site needs as they arise., Open and close the school site as required
- Carry out general maintenance and basic repairs around the site
- Ensure the school grounds and buildings are safe, clean, and presentable
- Conduct regular checks of the site to identify any issues or hazards
- Support with setting up rooms or spaces when required
- Ensure all health & safety procedures are followed
- Report any maintenance issues promptly
- Assist with general site duties to support the school day

Previous caretaking, facilities, or maintenance experience preferred
- Practical and hands-on approach to work
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible attitude
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks across split shifts
- Good awareness of health & safety practices
- Basic DIY or maintenance skills advantageous

Additional Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check required (or willingness to undergo one)
- Right to work in the UK essential, This role suits someone dependable, practical, and committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment. You should be comfortable working split shifts and taking responsibility for the site on a day-to-day basis.
