Full Job Description
We are looking for a knowledgeable, dedicated, and enthusiastic early years and childcare practitioner to support new and existing childcare providers to develop, sustain, and expand school-age (wraparound) childcare provision, ensuring families can access high-quality, inclusive childcare (8am-6pm) that supports employment and child development. They must have the appropriate, knowledge, skills and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage, play work and relevant local and national priorities for the early years and childcare sector. The role will include scrutiny and analysis of data to determine need, delivery of training, supporting access to grants and dissemination of statutory guidance. The role is hybrid working, but there will be extensive travel around the county to early years and childcare settings and corporate buildings. The successful candidate will have: Substantial experience leading and managing high-quality wraparound childcare provision and a strong understanding and knowledge of:
- Wraparound childcare legislation and policy
- Safeguarding practice
- Ofsted requirements and quality frameworks
- SEND Code of Practice
- Equality Act and Children & Families Act
- Project management
- Monitoring, evaluating, and improving service quality A strong candidate will:
- Be experienced in childcare leadership and programme delivery
- Have robust knowledge of policy, safeguarding, and SEND
- Demonstrate collaborative working and stakeholder engagement
- Show a clear commitment to inclusive, high-quality childcare provision
