Full Job Description
We're recruiting for a Schemes and Delegated Authority Controls Lead in our Schemes and Delegated Authorities team. Working directly with the SDA (Schemes and Delegated Authority) leadership team, you'll be delivering the oversight of the controls environment across underwriting, operations, conduct and distribution. You'll work closely with the teams across SDA as well as the Commercial First Line Risk team and take accountability for the grip and control. In this role you'll support with the ongoing compliance and delivery of the AXA UK Risk Framework and associated policies applicable to SDA whilst driving the best AXA behaviours and SDA culture. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance in our Leeds, Ipswich, Gloucester or Bolton office, visiting other AXA sites (with SDA presence) or external Delegated Authority (DA) visits or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition. What you'll be doing:
- Act as the key owner of the SDA control environment and support with the implementation and continued embedding of the AXA Enterprise Risk Management
- Framework (ERMF) and associated UK and Group requirements within SDA alongside the Commercial First Line Risk team.
- Support with the management of product governance and documentation controls owned by SDA, lead the SDA Technical Product team and drive operational excellence and controls.
- Oversee the documentation version controls and be responsible for defining, maintaining and providing ongoing oversight of the controls associated with the Underwriting and Risk Frameworks.
- Own and support with the Product Approval Process (PAP) in SDA and work alongside the Conduct and Compliance and Operational Risk team to manage Delegated Authority oversight across our third-party management platforms (DART and 3RM).
- Coordinating stakeholders across AXA Commercial and UK 2nd line on the completion and management of PAPs as well as ensuring the onboarding of Delegated Authorities and continuous oversight through annual reviews and Customer Outcomes MI (COMI).
- Provide ongoing support and management of all SDA contracts, working closely with SDA, Commercial Risk and UK&I Legal to ensure robust contracts are in place and operating within the legal risk appetite.
- Provide ongoing support and management to the DA Relationship Managers across the contracts management process, escalating outstanding matters in a timely manner to the appropriate stakeholders internally and externally.
- Working alongside the SDA Director, you'll be responsible for ensuring that the contract position across SDA returns to be within appetite, and that the position is sustainably maintained. - Experience of and insights around good governance and how it can be structured and delivered.
- Evidence of providing oversight of, and ensuring adherence to, risk and control frameworks, policies, standards, etc.
- Commercial and pragmatic outlook, able to work at pace and delivery focussed.
- Comfortable with data management, development, and control approaches. As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
