Full Job Description

Two permanent, part-time (18hrs & 24hrs), Scheme Support Officer working at our Young persons accommodation service in Moriston, Swansea. Both roles are based on a four-week rolling rota. The 18-hour position involves working two days per week, while the 24-hour role includes a mix of day shifts and sleep-in duties, with an additional £62.64 paid per sleep-in., Swansea Young Persons service provides temporary accommodation to young people age 16-24 who are experiencing homelessness. The service delivers intensive housing related supported to individuals who are ready to gain independence and a tenancy of their own. As a Young Persons Scheme Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the young people in our service. You will provide emotional and practical support, assist with any issues that may arise, and contribute to a calm and stable environment. Duties include:

  • Empower individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to live independently.
  • Address complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health issues, substance misuse, and offending behaviour.
  • Work with a wide range of personalities and behaviours, including individuals who may be resistant to support.
  • Adapt your approach to effectively engage with a diverse clientele.
  • Undertake lone working, requiring strong communication skills, resilience, and confidence to work on your own initiative.
