Full Job Description
Full-time Scheme Support Officer in a short term Supported Accommodation scheme in Treherbert. The scheme is covered 24 hours, 7 days a week so you will be expected to work on a rolling rota which involves: days, evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays, and sleep-ins., This is a Scheme Support Officer role based in our Supported accommodation service, Abertonllwyd House, Treherbert, RCT. We have a team of Scheme Support officers, a Lead Project Worker, Project Manager, providing 24/7 Support to our diverse group of customers. Working in a team, you will provide support to 8 individuals who have complex backgrounds. We offer opportunity for our customers to engage in support which will allow them to gain confidence and the skills required to live independently. As a Scheme Support Officer, you will carry out essential work in re-engaging individuals with mental health services and drug and alcohol programmes. You will be working with individuals who require motivation and to have a positive impact on their lives, we do this by creating and developing trusting relationships with each individual client. The role does NOT provide any personal care, medication, or interventions. Day to Day Duties:
- Engaging and interacting with the people we support, including attending external agency appointments with them.
- Delivering support sessions relating to tenancy management, Life skills, and health & wellbeing.
- Arranging and carrying out activities with the people we support to provide them with meaningful activities and physical health.
- Managing the maintenance and health & safety of the building.
- Managing visitors to the building.
Relevant experience is not always necessary, but it is important that you have the following: - A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible.
- An enthusiasm and passion for supporting people to achieve the best outcomes that they can.
- A strong ability to create relationships that are open and honest.
- A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being an effective team player.
- Ability to deal with conflicting and demanding situations.
