Full Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and organised Sales Supervisor to support our busy recycling and refurbished white goods operation. This position requires someone who can confidently assist a small sales team, manage a fast moving diary, and ensure a smooth experience for customers collecting stock on-site. A key responsibility will be supporting white goods sales to traders, including washing machines, dryers, fridges, freezers, and electric cookers. You will help build and maintain strong relationships with trade clients and ensure they receive the right stock at the right time. We are proud of our refurbished appliances department. It has been running since 2017, selling locally to trade clients, and today is one of the largest of its type in the UK. We're part of the AO.com family and their growth fuels our growth. All of this is underpinned by having great people and accreditations which mean we can sell our refurbished appliances with both confidence and warranty.Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

  • Sell refurbished washing machines, dryers, fridges, freezers, and electric cookers specifically to trade customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with traders
  • Understand customer requirements and match them with suitable stock, communicate availability, bulk deals, and pricing clearly and professionally
  • Ensure all items are graded, priced, and ready for trade customer collection.
  • Sales & Customer Support
  • Lead and support the sales team in bringing new customers into the business.
  • Manage customer enquiries and returns process diligently and professionally both in person and over the phone,
  • Diary & Operational Planning
  • Manage and update the daily sales diary to ensure a smooth flow of customer arrivals and collections.
  • Coordinate with the reuse production and QA teams to make sure stock is prepared in advance.
  • Quickly adjust schedules when workloads change or urgent collections are required.
  • Maintain a well organised collection process for all customers.
  • Team Support & Communication
  • Support the Reuse Production & Sales Manager and sales team with day to day tasks and customer demand.
  • Assist in solving customer issues, escalating where needed, whilst also being vigilant to preferential treatment.
  • Help the team meet sales targets and deliver excellent service.
  • Ensure that all departments communicate effectively to maintain workflow.
  • Act as a point of contact when dealing with escalations or urgent issues

  • Minimum 3 years' Sales Experience with at least 2 years at Supervisory level
  • Level 3 ILM level education (or equivalent, could be through apprenticeship or other pathway) desirable
  • Experience in sales and coordinating operations.
  • Confidence in selling refurbished white goods and dealing with trade customers.
  • Strong organisational skills with experience managing busy diaries or schedules.
  • Ability to work flexibly between 06:00 - 16:00 depending on operational needs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced recycling / warehouse environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Able to stay calm and effective in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills across customers, drivers, production teams, and management.
