Full Job Description
A global industrial technology business is looking to recruit a Sales Engineer to drive growth across the UK & Ireland. This is a field-based position combining technical sales, account management, and new business development. You will be responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and delivering solutions across a range of industrial sectors., Sales & Business Development
- Achieve territory sales targets and contribute to overall growth
- Generate new business opportunities and expand the customer base
- Develop long-term relationships with key clients
- Manage the full sales cycle from enquiry through to close Technical Sales Support
- Provide pre-sales technical support and application advice
- Prepare quotations and proposals
- Deliver product demonstrations, presentations, and training
- Support customers post-sale to ensure successful implementation Account Management & Strategy
- Maintain and grow existing accounts
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and margins
- Contribute to market strategy and product development feedback
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends Reporting & CRM
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and reporting
- Update CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
- Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders
Degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a scientific discipline - Minimum 3 years' experience in a Sales Engineer or technical sales role
- Strong technical understanding within industrial or manufacturing environments
- Ability to communicate complex technical solutions clearly
- Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce or similar)
- Strong organisational and reporting skills Desirable:
- Experience in materials testing or quality control equipment
- Exposure to sectors such as automotive, plastics, packaging, pharma, or medical devices
- Experience with application software or system integration Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel extensively across the UK & Ireland (approx. 50%)
- Flexibility for overnight stays as required
- Full UK driving licence
