Full Job Description

A global industrial technology business is looking to recruit a Sales Engineer to drive growth across the UK & Ireland. This is a field-based position combining technical sales, account management, and new business development. You will be responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and delivering solutions across a range of industrial sectors., Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve territory sales targets and contribute to overall growth
  • Generate new business opportunities and expand the customer base
  • Develop long-term relationships with key clients
  • Manage the full sales cycle from enquiry through to close
  • Technical Sales Support
  • Provide pre-sales technical support and application advice
  • Prepare quotations and proposals
  • Deliver product demonstrations, presentations, and training
  • Support customers post-sale to ensure successful implementation
  • Account Management & Strategy
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue and margins
  • Contribute to market strategy and product development feedback
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends
  • Reporting & CRM
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and reporting
  • Update CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders

    Degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a scientific discipline
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Sales Engineer or technical sales role
  • Strong technical understanding within industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Ability to communicate complex technical solutions clearly
  • Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce or similar)
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills
  • Desirable:
  • Experience in materials testing or quality control equipment
  • Exposure to sectors such as automotive, plastics, packaging, pharma, or medical devices
  • Experience with application software or system integration
  • Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK & Ireland (approx. 50%)
  • Flexibility for overnight stays as required
  • Full UK driving licence
