Safeguarding Practitioner

The Safeguarding Practitioner will have a key role in promoting good professional practice across all elements of the safeguarding agenda under the guidance of the Head of Safeguarding. You will take the lead in providing supervision, training, specialist advice and support related to safeguarding adults, safeguarding children, Prevent and domestic abuse.

You will contribute to developing the skills of the frontline practitioners, particularly in relation to assessment of safeguarding risk, immediate interventions, partnership working and report writing., The post holder acts as an advocate for adults and children at risk of harm or neglect, raising awareness of their needs and actively promoting the philosophy that their interests are paramount.

Help to inspire the development of a culture of safeguarding within North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. This will include but is not limited to robust systems, policies, partnership working and training relating to the safeguarding portfolio.- Work autonomously, organising and planning own work to meet the needs of the service.- Under the direction of the Head of Safeguarding the post holder will be responsible for managing the sharing of confidential, sensitive information with partner agencies in relation to safeguarding.- Work collaboratively with other members of the Safeguarding Team and provide cover where appropriate.- Provide supervision, specialist advice and support related to safeguarding children and adults across the Trust.- Attend multi-agency case conferences, strategy discussions and other safeguarding meetings.- Support the delivery of safeguarding training.- Assist in the monitoring of quality developments/audits.

- Experience in managing challenging situations and conversations.
