Full Job Description

The post holder will help ensure axess Sexual Health and University Hospitals Liverpool Group meets its commissioning responsibilities for safeguarding children and adults. This includes making sure staff understand their safeguarding responsibilities and that effective working relationships with partner organisations and external agencies are maintained. As part of the axess Sexual Health safeguarding team, the post holder will manage complex safeguarding issues and must have strong communication skills, with confidence in working with external agencies such as local authorities and the police. Working as part of the axess safeguarding team, you will be the first point of contact for the axess clinical team, providing timely support and guidance to help keep patients safe and ensure appropriate support is put in place without delay., Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns raised by staff or external partner agencies, providing timely support, advice and guidance. Review all allegations or disclosures of abuse and make appropriate referrals, while actively contributing to multi-agency strategy discussions and professional meetings to ensure agreed actions are implemented and monitored effectively. Provide specialist safeguarding advice and support, escalating concerns as appropriate through the established safeguarding reporting structure. Manage complaints effectively, support staff debriefing following incidents, and identify opportunities for service improvement, incorporating lessons learned into revised and updated training. Support the Safeguarding Service in providing assurance to the Trust that safeguarding processes are effectively embedded within healthcare delivery., The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

This fixed-term post provides maternity leave cover and offers a secondment opportunity for employees of University Hospitals of Liverpool Group. We are delighted to offer this opportunity to join the axess Sexual Health safeguarding team. We are looking for a compassionate practitioner with a strong understanding of safeguarding people at risk of harm, who is eager to further develop their knowledge and skills in this area. You should have a sound understanding of safeguarding and be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills. The role includes providing specialist safeguarding advice, support and supervision to frontline staff across the axess Sexual Health service, including sites in Liverpool, Knowsley, East Cheshire, Warrington, Halton and Widnes. Although based at our site city centre site in David Lewis Street Liverpool, the successful applicant will visit all our services on a rota basis. In return, you will gain experience within a specialist sexual health service and receive safeguarding supervision and training to support your personal and professional development.,
