Full Job Description

We are seeking a Safeguarding Operational Lead to join our Safeguarding team at the RHN. Your key responsibility is to facilitate the development of a highly skilled workforce that will provide sustainable safeguarding practices throughout the RHN and supporting that workforce in the day to day prevention and management of safeguarding of adults at risk. Equally, you will be expected to lead on the development and monitoring of quality performance standards in relation to the Mental Capacity Act. Monitor standards of practice in relation to the Mental Capacity Act and work with internal and external partners to embed the principles of the Mental Capacity Act and improve practice across services. This post is part of the Nursing Directorate that includes Lead Nurses, Safeguarding team, Patient Safety and Quality team and Clinical Nurse Specialists., 1. Facilitate strong and effective leadership in the Safeguarding Team underpinned by the principles of the Making Safeguarding Personal agenda for patients and residents.
2. At the RHN all patients and residents are Adults at Risk and this is a key role in supporting staff to adhere to the requirements of safeguarding adults at risk within a complex care environment.
3. Ensure the development of a highly skilled workforce that will provide sustainable safeguarding practices throughout the RHN and supporting that workforce in the day to day prevention and management of safeguarding of adults at risk.
4. Participate in the promotion of early identification and management of safeguarding concerns by providing leadership, expert advice and education.
5. Lead on the development and monitoring of quality performance standards in relation to the Mental Capacity Act. Monitor standards of practice in relation to the Mental Capacity Act and work with internal and external partners to embed the principles of the Mental Capacity Act and improve practice across services.
