Full Job Description

As Safeguarding Co-ordinator, you will provide effective support to the Head of Wellbeing and Safeguarding by taking a campus lead on wellbeing and safeguarding issues relating to learners. You will maintain and review appropriate and accurate records, inform appropriate working strands alongside the HoWS and work closely with external and internal stakeholders. You will act with integrity and collaborate with curriculum and functional areas such as ALN and academic staff to collaborate and enhance learner experience and safeguarding. The post holder will provide safeguarding and wellbeing support across the Aberdare Campus and the College's Junior Apprenticeship provision based at Ystrad Mynach, working closely with learners, schools, parents/carers and external agencies to ensure the safety, welfare and successful engagement of all learners., All staff employed at Coleg y Cymoedd have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of learners, and all those working at the College are expected to uphold this commitment. As part of our safer recruitment processes, all new starters must successfully complete the required pre-employment checks prior to commencing employment. This includes an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. For roles that involve direct interaction with learners, registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is also a mandatory requirement.
