We are looking for a safeguarding champion for our pupils, someone who has the confidence and commitment to ensure that every young person thrives in our community regardless of their start in life. Our Safeguarding and CLA coordinator will be at the heart of our pastoral team and will ensure that our most vulnerable students have a voice. If you bring professionalism, care and attention to detail - and want to make a difference - we'd love to hear from you.
St Mary's Catholic College is seeking a Safeguarding & CLA Coordinator to support our strong commitment to keeping our students safe. It is a vital role at the heart of our culture where we recognise that students may need additional support when life outside of school is difficult.
You will:
- Triage and respond to daily safeguarding concerns logged via CPOMS
- Maintain safeguarding files and ensure clear chronological documentation
- Attend and contribute to CIN, CP, TAF and PEP meetings
- Complete EHATs and lead TAFs
- Liaise with social workers and external agencies
- Monitor key vulnerable cohorts and log daily interactions and updates
We offer:
- A dedicated, caring and values-led staff team
- A college in a period of exciting and necessary transformation
- Support from Holy Family Catholic MAT and system-level networks
- A relational approach to staff development and student care
In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, Holy Family Multi Academy Trust will undertake general online searches for all shortlisted candidates, this may include social media and video platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Online searches will only examine data that is publicly available, and the aim is to identify any incidents or issues. Any areas of concern will be discussed during the interview process.
The Trust is committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of age, disability,
marital status, race (including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin), religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment or pregnancy/maternity. All applicants invited to interview must evidence their right to work in the UK.
We are committed to safeguarding the young people in our care, and we expect all our staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to relevant clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Completed Application Form and covering letter to be returned to the Headteacher, Mr K Maddocks via recruitment@hfcmat.com
If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised closing date, so please apply as soon as you can.
The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and individually take responsibility for doing so.
