Who we're looking for If you've benefited from running or owning a pub business, we'd love to hear what experience you can bring. The right operator for the Black Horse will have extensive experience in food-led, community-focused hospitality businesses. They will have a clear vision for the food and drink menu, how to make the most of the garden and the local marketing strategy, and can create a memorable experience for their customers. If this sounds like the incredible pub opportunity you've been waiting for, apply today and tell us what you can bring to this pub's next chapter…
We are planning to invest around £450,000 in the Black Horse, Barnet, transforming it into a welcoming food-and-drink destination with refreshed interiors and a standout pub garden. What would you do with this pub to make it a success? About the area The Black Horse is set in a residential part of Barnet, close to the town centre and next to a park. Its position offers access to local footfall as well as an established neighbourhood audience, with around 18,000 adults living within walking distance. The pub is one of a handful of local options, with four competitor pubs nearby, so there is a strong opportunity to make it stand out through the quality of its offer and surroundings. The pub currently attracts a loyal, predominantly more mature customer base. The planned investment will help retain those regulars while broadening its appeal to a more diverse audience, especially families and casual diners looking for a comfortable place to eat, drink and spend time together.
