Situated in North Worcestershire, Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council share services. The role - Redditch Borough Council's Voids Team is looking for a hardworking, reliable, and community-minded Rubbish Remover to help us prepare empty properties for new tenants. You'll play a vital part in ensuring our homes are safe, clean, and ready to let as quickly as possible, supporting high standards across our housing service.This is a hands-on, physical role where no two days are the same. You'll work across the borough clearing waste, removing unwanted items, and supporting the wider Voids and Repairs teams to deliver an excellent service for our residents. Key Requirements
- Clear waste, furniture, and household items from void properties, gardens, sheds, and communal areas
- Work safely and efficiently to meet turnaround targets for empty homes
- Ensure all waste is disposed of responsibly in line with council policies and environmental regulations
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with tenants and contractors.
Physically able to meet the demands of the role and comfortable with manual handling - Organised, with good time management and attention to detail
- Committed to health and safety and following safe working practices
- Respectful, professional, and community-focused
- Able to work in properties that may be cluttered, dirty, or in poor condition A full UK driving licence is essential. Experience in waste removal, caretaking, grounds maintenance, or a similar role is desirable but not essential - the right attitude matters most.
