RTT Validator and PIFU Support Officer

This is a fixed-term Band 4 RTT Validation and PIFU Support Officer role within Cardiology Services until 31st March 2027. The primary focus of the role is the validation and management of RTT and DM01 patient pathways, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with national access standards. Post holder responsible for analysing and interpreting patient pathway information, proactively tracking pathways, identifying delays, risks and data quality issues, and taking appropriate action to resolve or escalate these in line with national guidance. A good working knowledge of RTT and/or DM01 rules and validation processes is essential. The post holder will work independently to prioritise workload and support delivery of access targets, while working collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to ensure patients progress through their pathways safely and in a timely manner., In addition, the post holder will provide administrative support to Patient Initiated Follow-Up (PIFU) processes, representing approximately 10% of the role, ensuring patients are accurately recorded, monitored and able to access services when required. The role requires proactive tracking of patient pathways across diagnostic and treatment stages. The post holder will identify delays, risks and potential breaches, prioritising pathways based on urgency and impact, and taking appropriate action to resolve issues or escalate concerns to clinical and operational teams. • Educated to Level 4 standard (e.g. NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration or equivalent experience)
• Good standard of general education (e.g. GCSEs including English and Maths or equivalent)
• Evidence of IT literacy including Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel), A-levels or equivalent qualification
• RTT, access policy or data quality training
• Evidence of continuing professional development, Significant administrative experience within an NHS setting
• Experience of validating and managing patient pathways
• Working knowledge of RTT and/or DM01 standards and validation rules
• Experience using Patient Administration Systems (e.g. Lorenzo, Cerner)
• Experience working with data, including identifying and resolving data quality issues
• Experience of working with multiple stakeholders to resolve issues, Experience of DM01 validation
• Experience supporting Patient Initiated Follow-Up (PIFU) pathways
• Experience within diagnostic or Thoracic services
• Experience using digital systems, dashboards or patient platforms
• Experience supporting reporting or audit activity
