Full Job Description
We currently have an opportunity for a senior physiotherapist to join our rotations at Ashford and St Peters Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (ASPH) for a fixed term post. Applications are welcome from those with physiotherapy training and relevant NHS and UK experience, new or experienced band 6s as well as those returning to practice and waiting for HCPC registration. Flexible working requests will be considered at the point of interview. Our rotations are 6 months in duration and include:
- Senior Adult Medical Services/ General Medicine
- Emergency services and admission avoidance
- Intensive /Critical care
- General Surgery
- Cardiorespiratory medicine
- Trauma orthopaedics
- Hyper-acute/acute stroke uni Delivering excellence in patient care and patient experience is our driving force and in return we offer commitment to your personal development through supervision, appraisal and both internal and external training. ASPH encourage the staff involvement in research and development, providing opportunities in service evaluation and audit as well as service quality improvement initiatives. ASPH offers a seven-day service across some teams and you will be expected to participate in seven day working as per service requirements.,
- Work as an autonomous practitioner to manage a significant specialist clinical caseload including using respiratory, medical, neurological and orthopaedic skills and knowledge.
- Complete comprehensive patient assessments, formulate clinical diagnoses and problem lists and provide appropriate therapy input to facilitate onward planning and safe discharge from hospital.
- Contribute to board rounds or problem patient sessions to ensure that patients get the right treatment, at the right time in the right place.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, putting patient care and the patient experience first.
- Actively participate in service development and contribute to monitoring of standards of practice, and take personal responsibility in your professional development and professional registration requirements.
- Show passion for providing a high level of care and safeguarding to patients known to our service.
- Have the ability to use initiative, communicate with empathy and be an effective team player.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and deputise for the team leads whenever necessary.
- Participate in the development of physiotherapists/ occupational therapists and support staff within clinical speciality through training, competencies and supervision.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team teaching.
- To take part in the respiratory on call service.
- To part in specific 7 day working rotas, dependent on the team/area.
