Rotational Foundation Pharmacist

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our Brent/Harrow Pharmacy team at Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust. The rotational post offers you an excellent opportunity for band 6 to 7 progression. Progression is subject to completion of necessary in-house criteria and a successful portfolio review. It also offers a great opportunity to develop your clinical and professional knowledge and skills in both physical and mental healthcare settings. Main duties of the job You will need to demonstrate a person-centred approach and have effective interpersonal and organisational skills. Previous NHS Hospital pharmacy experience, including mental health, would be desirable. Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 3 month probationary period. • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
• Master's Degree in pharmacy followed by the completion of pre- registration training and experience.
• To be working towards or willing to work towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy.
Desirable
• Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society(RPS)
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE Essential
• Good knowledge and understanding of therapeutic areas and pharmacological treatments obtaining through the completion of degree course and pre-registration year.
• Experience of working with patients either in a hospital or community setting.
• To have knowledge and understanding of basic clinical governance principles.
• Experience of working to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Accuracy in dispensing and checking prescriptions.
Desirable
• Experience in hospital pharmacy
• Experience training other healthcare professionals
• Experience of supervising junior pharmacy staff, Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Evidence of CPD and acquiring new skills and knowledge
• To have an awareness of government and professional policy/legislation that affects the delivery of pharmacy services e.g. NICE, RPS, Ability to work independently and as part of a team
