Full Job Description
As a Rostering Coordinator in our J&I team, you will support the effective operation of the Central Workforce Management function. The role is responsible for coordinating operational staffing levels across the establishment, ensuring compliance with the Central Workforce Management Country Standard Operating Procedure.
You will play a key role in managing staffing resources, including annual leave, TOIL, overtime, and staff requests, while supporting forecast planning and maintaining operational resilience.
What you'll do as a Rostering Coordinator
Ensure the establishment maintains adequate minimum staffing levels aligned with shift patterns, operational regimes, planned prisoner movements, leave types, and staff training requirements.
Work closely with another Rostering Coordinator to provide central oversight of staffing levels at least 14 days in advance, enabling effective workforce forecasting.
Identify and implement effective solutions to operational challenges, including short-notice prisoner transfers, bedwatches, and unplanned staff absences.
Liaise with the Training Lead to ensure mandatory and developmental training is accurately reflected within staff shift patterns.
Act as a central point of contact for staff enquiries relating to shift swaps, annual leave, TOIL, overtime, and related workforce matters.
Provide occasional support to the Hub Administrator by recording, confirming, and submitting overtime information using payroll templates.
Undertake additional duties as required, with responsibilities evolving to meet organisational needs and objectives.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrable experience coordinating work at a level beyond routine administration.
Confident communicator, both face-to-face and over the telephone.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels
Desirable Experience
Previous experience in rostering or workforce planning (training will be provided).
