Full Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Community Psychiatric Nurse or Registered General Nurse to join the Manchester Early Intervention Service. A friendly, supportive, and high-performing team working with individuals who have experienced a first episode of psychosis. As part of wider investment in community services, Manchester EIS has received additional funding to expand, making this an exciting time to join the service.As a Band 6 nurse, you will play a key role in supporting the mental and physical health agenda within the team. Based within the physical health team and working across the three EIS sites in Manchester, you will collaborate closely with the wider MDT and frontline teams. You will support the physical health lead in overseeing and implementing the physical health agenda. This will include supporting and supervising junior staff, working closely with the Band 7 lead to promote NICE-concordant care, and primarily undertaking clinical duties such as, Complete comprehensive physical health assessments PHIT Tools for service users.o Perform venepuncture, ECGs, baseline examinations, and repeat tests following abnormal results.o Provide health-improvement interventions and lifestyle adviceChampion physical health and wellbeing across the EIS team.o Implement physical health policies and Shared Care Protocols.o Work with the Band 7 lead todevelop health-promotion initiatives.o Support workforce skill development and provide expert advice.Act as a visible and accessible physical health specialist.o Attend MDT meetings to support integrated care planning.o Liaise with GPs, acute hospitals, and specialist services.
physical health checks, ECGs, bloods, and delivering related health interventions and health promotion.The successful candidate will preferably hold a full UK driving licence. This role requires the ability to transport multiple pieces of equipment, as well as blood products and other specimens.
