Full Job Description

As the largest funder for the UK's heritage, our vision is for heritage to be valued, cared for and sustained for everyone, now and in the future.

We believe in the power of heritage to ignite the imagination, offer joy and inspiration, and to build pride in place and connection to past.

Our mission is to use our expertise to support and champion the UK's heritage and demonstrate the transformative potential of National Lottery funding through delivering our new strategy Heritage 2033. We ensure that money from The National Lottery makes a decisive difference for people, places and communities.

We are currently recruiting for a full time Risk and Performance Manager on a permanent contract based in our London Office (Hybrid Working).

The primary purpose of this post is to lead and maintain effective organisational risk management and performance reporting across the Heritage Fund. The role ensures that risk and performance frameworks are embedded, regularly reviewed, and used to inform strategic decision-making. The postholder will support senior leadership, programme owners, and teams across the organisation to manage risks proactively and deliver performance insight that strengthens governance and improves organisational outcomes.

The postholder will work closely with the Head of Governance, Audit and Risk Committee Secretariat, and provide core support to senior leaders, including the Executive Team and Senior Leadership Team on all aspects of risk and performance management.

They will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Heritage Fund -particularly Governance, Finance, Strategy, Data and Programme teams - to ensure a consistent and embedded approach to organisational risk and performance. The postholder will be expected to build constructive, effective working relationships across the organisation and with external partners, auditors and other specialists, ensuring that risk and performance insights are well understood and used to support informed decision-making.

If you are excited about helping ensure that heritage is inclusive and accessible to everyone, for now and future generations, then we want to hear from you.

Applications close on Sunday, 10 May 2026 at 23:59 pm.
Interviews are expected to take place on Friday, 22 May 2026. Second Stage Interviews will take place on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.
