Risk Lawyer

This role will be part of the Firm's General Counsel team, working with a team of risk lawyers to handle and resolve issues, investigations and responses to issues engaging the firm's professional indemnity insurance and arrangements. This role will have responsibility for providing advice and guidance to our Partners and lawyers, and ensuring the highest standards are upheld across the General Counsel team and more broadly across the firm.,

• To work with the existing risk team to respond and resolve issues raised in accordance with the firm's client complaints protocols and associated procedures.
• To contribute to the firm's management of potential issues engaging the professional indemnity arrangements in the firm.
• To provide proactive and commercial advice to the firm in relation to service obligations, risks and exposures, including in respect of professional negligence practice and procedure.
• To assist with internal investigations and reviews of service delivery in the firm, working alongside other stakeholders and to liaise with the COLP where appropriate.
• To support on and be engaged in training and process regarding best practice, excellence in client service and risk management.
• To contribute towards other ad-hoc projects within the department as and when requested, which may include collaborating with colleagues across the General Counsel function.
  
  The ideal candidate will have:
• Significant experience handling investigations, complaints and/or claims in a contentious insurance or law firm compliance role.
• Significant experience and knowledge of the relevant regulatory and insurance landscape, including the Legal Ombudsman and engagement with professional indemnity insurers.
• Meaningful experience with a varied caseload and stakeholder reporting is highly desirable.
• Qualified Solicitor, whether through the traditional training contract route or by an alternative qualification route.
