Risk and Insurance Support Officer

The Risk and Insurance Support Officer will provide cover for a fixed term period in the small team that provides the insurance service to the Council; this includes insurance procurement, responding to queries and managing a wide range of claims. The role involves contact with many departments, individual claimants and external organisations. On the job training will be provided., Efficiently administer insurance claims for the council on a wide range of policy covers including property, liability, motor and school journey insurances, ensuring accurate records for individual claims on the insurance database are maintained.
Maintain various systems such as the claims database, motor insurance database, property register, ensuring records are up-to-date and accurate.
Answer telephone calls and respond to emails, dealing competently with routine insurance enquiries from PCC services in respect of general insurance matters and assist with general team administrative tasks
Processing of orders and payments for the insurance department.

Worked within an office based customer service environment.
Worked with data systems and Microsoft Office 365 applications.
Good communication and interpersonal qualities.
Able to contribute to the effective working of a team and work as an individual.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Numeracy to the level necessary to undertake calculations, analyse data and monitor spreadsheets and reports.
