  • What you'll be doing
  • Provide expert advice and actively support the business on R&A matters by conducting regular site visits to assure the business has the right standards in place.
  • Identify risk and support Operational teams in implementing control measures while promoting best practice.
  • Ensure improvement projects are implemented at site level and track outstanding actions within the site improvement plan.
  • Be part of a multi-layer assurance strategy. Evaluate sites against Veolia Minimum Requirements (VMR) and visit locations to interact with operational teams and observe daily activities.
  • Monitor site performance to identify where additional support/actions are required, escalating concerns to the Senior Advisor and/or manager.
  • Promote good practice across the team and recommend improvements to standards (e.g., VMR).
  • Monitor close-out of actions from audits, events and investigations; support sites in event investigations to identify root causes.
  • Support R&A Team with communication on good practice and lessons learned.
  • What we are looking for The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge with a keen eye for potential hazards and a practical mindset for problem-solving. They should be able to navigate complex situations, propose realistic solutions, and effectively communicate these to all levels of the business.
  • Previous experience in a Safety Advisor role, ideally in the waste management sector, with a NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum.
  • Internal Auditor Training with experience of different operational activities; motivated to participate in improvement programmes and implementation at operational sites.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide industry-leading service to internal and external customers.
  • Strong hazard perception skills and the ability to identify and assess risks in various environments.
  • A pragmatic approach to finding solutions and developing practical safety strategies.
