Full Job Description
Shropshire Council is looking for a skilled and motivated Retrofit Assessor to join ourdynamic and award -winning Affordable Warmth & Energy Efficiency (AWEE)team . This is a key role supporting the delivery of government-funded retrofit and energyefficiency programmes, including Warm Homes Local Grant (WHLG) , helpingresidents live in warmer, healthier and more energy-efficient homes.As a Retrofit Assessor within the AWEE team, you will:
- Carry out PAS 2035-compliant retrofit assessments of domestic properties, identifying measures that improve energy efficiency, comfort and safety
- Produce high-quality retrofit assessments and reports to support grant-funded delivery programmes such as WHLG,
- Work directly with residents, providing clear, supportive advice and helping them understand the improvements available to their home
- Liaise with installers, delivery partners and internal colleagues to support smooth, compliant delivery of works
- Ensure assessments meet quality, compliance and audit requirements , contributing to successful programme delivery
- Travel across the county as part of a supportive, collaborative and forward-thinking team
- Experience as a Retrofit Assessor (or working towards accreditation) with a solid understanding of PAS 2035
- A strong commitment to improving homes for residents experiencing fuel poverty or vulnerability
- Excellent attention to detail and confidence producing technical reports
- A professional, resident-focused approach with strong communication skills
- Good IT skills and the ability to manage your own workload effectively
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel across Shropshire You'll be fully supported with training and development and will play a vital role indelivering high-impact programmes that make a real difference to people's lives.
