Line manage Shop Managers, Cover Managers, and bank staff - coaching, motivating, and supporting them to achieve their best.
Drive a high-performance culture with clear communication and strong leadership.
Champion exceptional customer service across every store.
Boost Retail Performance
Ensure financial targets and KPIs are not only met but exceeded.
Maximise profitability through commercial decision-making, stock allocation, and cost control.
Lead Gift Aid performance strategies to increase sign-ups and income.
Deliver Retail Excellence
Oversee shop standards, rotas, compliance, and training across all sites.
Implement a structured monthly visit schedule with practical, actionable feedback.
Manage the successful launch of seasonal merchandise and retail campaigns - including Spring and Christmas catalogues and online shop lines.
Keep Us Compliant & Efficient
Promote best practice in IT, EPOS, and CRM systems.
Oversee HR administration, including absence management and accurate record-keeping through Breathe HR.
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, GDPR, and all retail policies.
Drive Innovation
Use EPOS data to guide visual merchandising and shop floor layouts.
Collaborate with the Donation Hub to keep processes efficient and customer-focused.
Contribute to business cases for new retail opportunities and projects.
St David's Hospice is growing, and we're looking for a confident, inspirational Retail Area Manager to lead the success of our 10+ high-street shops. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in your community, drive income for local hospice services, and support a passionate team of staff and volunteers.
If you're commercially minded, thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, and love bringing out the best in people, we'd love to hear from you, Experience in retail or a similar customer-facing sector.
Proven multi-site leadership experience.
Strong people management and motivational skills.
Excellent financial awareness and commercial acumen.
Confident IT user (Microsoft 365, CRM, EPOS).
Strong communicator and problem solver.
Able to work autonomously, prioritise well, and thrive under pressure.
Desirable
Experience working with volunteers or within charity retail.
Knowledge of Gift Aid.
E-commerce experience.
Management qualification or evidence of professional development.
