Full Job Description
The Resuscitation Officer is a registered, experienced, paramedic with expert knowledge in resuscitation science and life support. The post holder provides Trust-level leadership for resuscitation training, clinical coaching, audit and quality improvement. The role ensures delivery of annual resuscitation updates (basic, intermediate and advanced life support), trauma life support approaches, and associated statutory skills training. The post holder will oversee Trust-based courses, ensuring they provide individual and crew-based coaching, supported by structured clinical debriefing when required, and contributing to the Trust's clinical governance agenda relating to resuscitation and recognition and treatment of the deteriorating patient care. Provide expert input to support the delivery of resuscitation and life support training across the Trust. Ensure compliance with the Core Skills Training Framework for resuscitation. Work across the Trust supporting excellence in resuscitation delivery across operations, the Academy and corporate teams. Provide subject matter expertise, clinical supervision and support following cardiac arrest and peri-arrest incidents when required. Maintain high levels of clinical credibility through maintenance of a portfolio to evidence clinical competence. Promote evidence-based practice within YAS that is in line with JRCALC, RCUK, NICE and wider resuscitation guidance. Contribute to the Trust's strategic clinical delivery of emergency care and drive improvements of community resuscitation outcomes.
