Restaurant Receptionist-Host - Fish! Kitchen Ltd - London

Are you an experienced Restaurant Receptionist or Host who loves the buzz of a busy restaurant, enjoys meeting people and knows how to keep a busy reservations book running smoothly? Fish! Restaurant in Borough Market is looking for a confident, organised and enthusiastic Restaurant Receptionist / Host to join our friendly Front of House team! Located in the heart of London's iconic Borough Market, our busy seafood restaurant welcomes approximately 2,500 guests every week, with seating for 110 guests indoors and 45 on our terrace. We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and can confidently manage a busy reception and reservations desk. ️ Please note: This is not an entry-level position. Previous restaurant reception or hosting experience in a busy restaurant is essential. ️ Your Role As our Restaurant Receptionist / Host, you'll be the first point of contact for our guests and play an important role in ensuring every service runs smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

• Warmly welcoming guests and creating a fantastic first impression
• Managing online, telephone and walk-in reservations
• Organising the reservations book and maximising table availability
• Coordinating table allocations and managing table turnover during busy services
• Handling large group bookings and special requests
• Responding professionally to guest enquiries by phone, email and in person
• Completing daily reception administration and updating menus
• Using reservation systems such as SevenRooms and OpenTable
• Working with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Completing daily opening and closing procedures
• Working closely with management and the Front of House team to deliver a seamless guest experience
  
  We're looking for someone who:
• Has previous restaurant reception or hosting experience, ideally in a busy, high-volume restaurant
• Is confident managing reservations, table plans and busy services
• Understands table turnover and how to maximise restaurant capacity
• Has experience using SevenRooms and/or OpenTable
• Is confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and email
• Has excellent organisational and multitasking skills
• Is friendly, professional and confident communicating with guests
• Can remain calm, efficient and positive under pressure
• Is proactive, reliable and pays attention to detail
• Works well independently and as part of a team
• Has full flexibility to work weekdays, evenings and weekends according to our weekly rota

  £14-£15 per hour, including tronc, depending on experience
