Respiratory Occupational Therapist

This is an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who wants to develop specialist skills, work creatively within a supportive multidisciplinary team, and make a difference to people living with chronic respiratorydisease. We are looking for someone who brings clinical curiosity, compassion and a commitment to helping people live as independently and confidently as possible. Recruitment Advert AtImpACT+, you will work alongside experienced respiratory clinicians in an integrated service that values collaboration,innovationand continuous learning. You will support adults with respiratory conditions to manage breathlessness,maintainindependenceand improve everyday function through high-quality assessment,rehabilitationand practical intervention. The role offers variety across clinic, community and group-based settingssuch as our Fatigue and Breathlessness group, along with the chance to contribute to service development and quality improvement in a well-regarded Derby-based team.,

• Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment planning, intervention and review for patients with respiratory conditions.
• Manage an autonomous caseload, using advanced clinical reasoning and professional judgement to prioritise referrals.
• Assess the impact of respiratory disease on activities of daily living and develop person-centred intervention plans.
• Deliver interventions to support breathlessness and fatigue management, pacing, energy conservation, anxiety management in relation to symptoms, and independence in daily activity.
• Contribute to pulmonary rehabilitation and group-based interventions where required.
• Provide specialist advice and support colleagues, patients, families and carers in relation to respiratory Occupational therapy.
• Maintain accurate, timely and legally compliant clinical documentation in line with Trust, HCPC and RCOT standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, pathway development and service improvement activity.
• Support supervision, teaching and development of junior staff, therapy assistants and students as appropriate.
• Participate in audit, quality improvement, service evaluation and implementation of evidence-based practice.
