Full Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Respiratory Associate Practitioner to join our Physiotherapy team. This is a patient-facing role supporting assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for people with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, working across inpatient settings including the high dependency unit. Whilst developing close MDT working relationships to support flow and discharge of patients from the acute trust. The successful post holder will support the respiratory physiotherapy team to deliver safe, effective and timely care. Working both across an independent caseload as well as alongside the team. Once competent this will include basic chest physiotherapy skills (airway clearance, breathing techniques, pulmonary rehab etc) regularly working with patients requiring oxygen therapy. You will also play a large role in educating patients and their families with long term condition management. As a department we will provide you with a kind, supporting and knowledgeable team to support your professional growth through regular supervisions and in service training sessions. You will also participate in continual service development ideas and projects, along with taking on educational opportunities not only with patients but with peers as well. As a Respiratory Technician, you will:

  • Be responsible for supporting the whole team in the provision of a patient centred service, in an efficient and cost effective way
  • Play a key role in bridging clinical and administrative responsibilities
  • You will provide both supervised and independent patient care, supporting the delivery of respiratory therapy and education to promote self management and independence
  • Participate in Medical Weekend working rota
