Full Job Description

This exciting role will provide the successful candidate with a wonderful opportunity to develop skills with further training in the performance of spirometry and other tests. Leading to the ARTP full certificate in spirometry. Primarily based at the Respiratory Laboratory, Aintree University Hospital you will play an active role in this busy department. You will be given relevant training in performing spirometry on patients in diagnostic respiratory clinics. After a period of relevant training and supervision you will be performing spirometry both within the hospital site but also at various clinic locations throughout South Sefton and Southport and Formby locales. As the service develops, there will be a requirement for staff to rotate around satellite clinics within the North Merseyside area. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the medical team, our admin team, other clinical physiologists in the department and members of the multi-disciplinary team., The Band 3 postholder will be required to work as part of the multi-disciplinary team towards the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disorders and contribute to and maintain excellent standards of patient care and clinical practice. The role involves daily face to face interactions with patients to support the wider team to deliver education, instruction and treatment so excellent communication and reporting skills is essential. Once training is completed to perform spirometry independently at various locations within North Merseyside. With appropriate training and instruction, to maintain the stock levels with the current inventory recording system/process, liaising with senior staff with regards to ordering. There will also be a requirement to assist in more advanced investigations for example CPET testing., After a period of training, to be able to independently set up and carry out any calibration, testing and system checks necessary in relation to diagnostic and therapeutic equipment in adherence to relevant departmental standard operating procedures (SOP).

It is essential that you are self-motivated and have good communication skills. You should have clinical experience, preferably within the NHS, experience with helathcare diagnostics would also be an advantage.,
