Residential Support Worker
Location: Romsey, Hampshire, UK, SO51 8
Contract type: Full Time/Permanent (Full-time, permanent)
Salary: £33,349.58 with sleep in shifts (Unqualified); £35,935.36 with sleep in shifts (Qualified Level 3/4)
Hours: Shift pattern on rotation; 3-week rolling rota comprising 7 24-hour shifts (09:00-09:30 the following day), including sleep-ins; 1 weekend off in every 3

Main Duties and Requirements
- Experience of working with children and young people and understanding of the issues faced by those in care.
- Ability to work a 3-week rolling rota comprising 7 24-hour shifts (09:00-09:30 the following day), including sleep-ins; 1 weekend off in every 3.
- Promoting, safeguarding and protecting the welfare of our young people.
- Establishing and maintaining positive and trusting relationships with our young people.
- Work well as part of a team and be able to accept direction and guidance.
- Encouraging the development of the individual interests of our young people.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Hold Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People\'s Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, or be willing to work towards a Level 4 diploma.
- Have a full UK driving licence and car, as the role will involve travelling.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Be willing to learn and work well as part of a small team.
- Be willing to undertake a DBS check at enhanced level if successful for the position (paid for by the employer).
- Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work or Youth Work would be advantageous.
