Main Duties and Requirements

• Experience of working with children and young people and understanding of the issues faced by those in care.


• Ability to work a 3-week rolling rota comprising 7 24-hour shifts (09:00-09:30 the following day), including sleep-ins; 1 weekend off in every 3.


• Promoting, safeguarding and protecting the welfare of our young people.


• Establishing and maintaining positive and trusting relationships with our young people.


• Work well as part of a team and be able to accept direction and guidance.


• Encouraging the development of the individual interests of our young people.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Hold Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People\'s Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, or be willing to work towards a Level 4 diploma.


• Have a full UK driving licence and car, as the role will involve travelling.


• Excellent communication and listening skills.


• Be willing to learn and work well as part of a small team.


• Be willing to undertake a DBS check at enhanced level if successful for the position (paid for by the employer).


• Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work or Youth Work would be advantageous.
