Full Job Description
- Provide a safe, caring and inclusive environment that meets young people's physical, emotional, social and cultural needs, while supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality care standards.
- Promote a positive, enabling culture that helps young people maximise their life chances and achieve the best possible outcomes in line with quality care standards.
- Support the development and review of policies, procedures and practices to ensure compliance with legislation, safeguarding requirements and quality standards.
- Undertake key worker responsibilities, including managing complex cases and safeguarding concerns, while providing guidance and support to less experienced staff.
- Maintain strong safeguarding awareness by assessing and managing risk, setting consistent boundaries and reporting concerns appropriately to protect the young people's welfare.
- Assess individual needs and contribute to care planning, ensuring the voices of young people, parents and those with parental responsibility are considered.
- Support young people's educational engagement, progress and achievement through effective planning, advocacy and participation in education reviews.
- Deliver direct care and interventions that meet identified needs, support positive transitions and strengthen important relationships.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with families, communities and external agencies to improve outcomes for young people.
- Contribute to staff supervision, appraisal and development, promoting continuous professional learning and improved performance.
- Represent the organisation professionally through effective communication, meetings and accurate report writing.
- Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children and young people in your care.
As one of the UK's best employers we are looking for a dedicated, proactive and highly experienced children's residential support worker., QCF Level 4 in Children, Young People and Families Practitioner or equivalent, see below NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (This does not include the NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care - adults) or BA (Hons) Social work degree with relevant children's residential practice (We cannot accept any other degree subject). - Significant residential childcare experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Working with statutory and voluntary agencies
- Flexibility to respond to the needs of the unit and young people
- Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- A current clean driving licence
