Full Job Description

  • Support care plans, development goals, and emotional well-being.
  • Promote safeguarding, routines, and behavioural boundaries.
  • Engage young people in education, recreation, and daily life skills.
  • Act as a key worker and lead shifts where appropriate.
  • Maintain records and liaise with families and external professionals.

    Ability to build positive relationships with young people and colleagues.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and calmness under pressure.
  • Inclusive, rights-based approach to care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (or willing to learn).
  • Positive role model with integrity and professionalism.
  • Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and sleep-ins.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Commitment to ongoing development.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience working with children or vulnerable people.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of child development, trauma, and safeguarding.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks., Ability to maintain and develop positive relationships with children, professionals and colleagues
  • Ability to act as a positive role model demonstrating honesty and integrity
  • Ability to work shifts including weekend and sleep ins
  • Commitment to complete a Level 3 in Residential Childcare
  • Desired criteria
  • Level 3 in Residential Childcare, or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge / experience of therapeutic children's care, Building Relationships
  • TeamworkCommunicationEmpathyPaperwork and Record KeepingExperience working with vulnerable people

    Residential Children's Worker - Full Time - 2:4 Shift Pattern including sleep-ins This role works a 2:4 shift pattern with sleep-ins on a rolling 6 day rota, plus additional periodic shifts to equal an average 40hr contract.
