Contract: Shift Pattern - ad-hoc cover

Salary: £14.11 - £14.77 (dependent on qualification) per hour plus sleep-in shifts when required

Headway Adolescent Resources was formed in 1999 and has established a good reputation in the residential adolescent childcare sector, pride ourselves on having the insight and ability to care for young people as individuals in a holistic manner, regardless of their background. We are currently looking for Residential Child Care Workers to join our new residential home on a casual basis. This fantastic opportunity offers flexibility to work hours you can commit to with no contractual obligation.

Based in a children's residential home, you will be working with young people with challenging behaviour. You need to be flexible, resilient, honest, well-organised, and committed to providing high standards of childcare to help young people achieve the best possible outcomes.

Applicants must have:

• Previous experience of working with challenging young people, preferably in a residential setting (not essential)


• Qualified to QCF level 3 in Children and Young People


• Capability to work on their own initiative with a high level of accuracy and maintain clear, neat records


• Good inter-personal skills and be a positive team player


• Intermediate computer experience


• Ability to complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements


• Empathetic nature


• Good oral and written communication skills in various contexts


• Ability to engage, motivate, and encourage young people


• Full manual driving license (essential)

Additional Information:

• Sleep-in allowance of £46 per night as required
