Full Job Description
- To provide support and work closely with all medical, nursing and other appropriate staff to facilitate the excellent standard of care given to critically sick patients at The London Clinic. To review all patients on the critical care units at least three times per day and to undertake rounds with the consultants. To provide emergency care for severely deteriorating patients likely to require high dependency critical care, pending the arrival / input of the designated consultant, To manage each patient in conjunction with a named consultant, and to implement the guidelines laid down by the ICU Consultant advisor to ensure that all critically ill patients receive the highest standard of medical care. To provide support to the clinical assistants and ward staff on immediate care to ensure that very sick patients have appropriate assessment and treatment and in the absence of the admitting consultant, to transfer to ICU and arrange immediate Consultant Intensivist cover To be an integral part of the Outreach Team and to provide medical input to 'at risk' patients
