Full Job Description
In supporting our employees to achieve a balance between their work and their personal lives, we will also consider proposals for flexible working or job share arrangements.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Research Service for a Research Support Officer predominately based in the School of Medicine, which is within the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences, providing valuable support for research grant applications and research ethics in a fast paced, busy School.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, pro-active administrator, confident in multi-tasking and prioritisation of their work, and able to work independently to ensure an efficient and effective service is delivered. You will be responsible for supporting researchers with their grant applications, whilst ensuring compliance with university and funder requirements. You will work as part of a small team and will report to the Research Manager who provides overall leadership and development of the team and who ensures excellent professional support is provided to our researchers.
Cardiff University is committed to supporting and promoting equality and diversity and to creating an inclusive working environment. We believe this can be achieved through attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse range of staff from many different backgrounds. We therefore welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of sex, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, trans identity, relationship status, religion or belief, caring responsibilities, or age. We especially welcome and encourage applications from those from under-represented groups within the University workforce, such as those who identify as LGBT +, BAME or those with disabilities. In supporting our employees to achieve a balance between their work and their personal lives, we will also consider proposals for flexible working or job share arrangements.
Applications may be submitted in Welsh, and an application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.
