Full Job Description
CPI is looking for a Research Scientist 1 or 2 (dependent on experience) to join the growing Digital & Automation team within the Biologics Technology Team, based at the National Biologics Manufacturing Centre (NBMC) in Darlington. The role is focused on developing and implementing automation solutions for bioprocess applications in the pharmaceutical space, as well as the use of digital technologies for both bioprocess automation and more broadly across the Biologics team.,
- To assist with the development and implementation of process automation workflows, for both batch and continuous processes
- To contribute to the development and implementation of advanced process control (APC) solutions for continuous processes
- To aid with data science and data engineering efforts within project work, as required
- To support the development and implementation of digital tools and technologies, especially as related to process automation
- To present and formally report experimental conclusions and supporting data for internal peer review and submission to clients, to agreed timescales and standards
- To support the wider technical team in digital, automation, and bioprocess work Research Scientist 2:
- To design, develop, and implement process automation workflows, for both batch and continuous processes
- To design, develop, and implement advanced process control (APC) solutions for continuous processes
- To contribute to data architecture design and realisation as it relates to general bioprocessing and biologics work
- To contribute to the design, development, and implementation of digital tools and technologies, especially as related to process automation
- To provide support and training in automation and digital skills to more junior members and the wider technical team
- To support the wider technical team in digital, automation, and bioprocess work
The Research Scientist 1 position would be ideal for recent degree graduates who wish to build upon theoretical knowledge and skills in bioprocess automation, and who have an interest in related digital technologies., The Research Scientist 2 position would be ideal for candidates with a degree and some additional industrial and/or research experience who wish to build upon and apply existing practical experience in bioprocess automation and have familiarity with related digital technologies.
