Full Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic, and highly motivated Clinical Fellow to join our current Diabetes and Endocrinology team.
The Countess of Chester is a highly ambitious Foundation Trust withan excellent reputation for innovative developments. Recognised nationally for being progressive and at the forefront of change. The Trust is committed to the provision of a high quality, Diabetes and Endocrinology Services. We have an established and high functioning multidisciplinary team includingSpecialist nurses, Specialist Pharmacist, a Research nurse, Dietitians, Psychology and Podiatry support.
We participate actively in the Merseyside and Cheshire Specialist network. There are a fully established Specialist clinics in the Specialist diabetes and Endocrinology, as well as community clinics.
The Department is very research active; we recruit actively to NIHR adopted interventional and observational studies and to national databases. The candidate will be actively involved in a number of international, multi-centre clinical trials.
Applicants should ideally be doing Diabetes and Endocrinology Specialty Training or have significant experience in D & Ewith an intention to undertake Diabetes and Endocrinology Specialty Training. Applicants wishing to work part-time, or job share are also encouraged to apply.
The job will be offered full time however applications would be welcome from candidates wishing to work less than full time., The candidate would also be working within the various specialist clinics and contribute to the diabetes and endocrine ward rounds at appropriate times. They will be involved in various audits, quality improvement activities and projects being undertaken in the department.

Candidates will be required to undertake regular participation in a number of diabetes and endocrine trials.
The opportunity to support the development of a diabetes and heart failure registry.
During the fellowship the candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of different general and specialist diabetes and endocrine clinics. They will also be required to contribute to ward clinical work on an ad hoc basis.
The Trust's services are provided from three locations: o The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 473 general and acute beds. o Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 60 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility. o Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population. The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust employs 5,964 staff (headcount) to provide care and treatment to a population of over 400,000 people living in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire. The Trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care System. Due to its location on the border with North Wales, the Trust also works closely with the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust treats patients from England and some parts of Wales. During 2024/2025, there were approximately 643,000 patient attendances
(inpatient, A&E, outpatient and diagnostic) ranging from a simple outpatient appointment to major cancer surgery
