Research Nurse / Clinical Trial Practitioner

The Research Nurse/Clinical Trial Practitioner is an autonomous specialist working within the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will take responsibility for the co-ordination, regulatory oversight and management of a clinical research portfolio comprising in-house, national and international phase II and III clinical trials in haematology. They will also line manage a number of staff and provide leadership and support to the team as a whole. You will be part of an expanding and dynamic clinical team helping research staff to deliver excellent care to adults with cancer. The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of clinical trials as well as education of patients and colleagues, coordination of care of patients on trials, collection and preparation of biological samples, collection of trial data, the monitoring of the expected and unexpected side effects of drugs and other treatment modalities.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in clinical research, knowledge of good clinical practice, good verbal and written communication skills and some experience of managing/leading teams within the NHS setting.
