About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Specialised Translational Research Oxford Neuromuscular Group (STRONG) in the Department of Paediatrics as our Research Nurse.
You will play an important role in the contribution of delivering and supporting innovative translational research studies aimed at improving the diagnosis, treatment and care of children with neuromuscular disorders.
You will be responsible for coordinating and delivering research studies, ensuring participant safety, maintaining regulatory compliance and supporting the collection of high-quality research data, and provide effective support through excellent communication, clinical expertise and organisational skills.
You will be working in a growing department within the Medical Sciences Division. The Department of Paediatrics is a world leader in child health research and hosts internationally renowned research programmes in drug development, gastroenterology, haematology, HIV, immunology, neuroimaging, neuromuscular diseases and vaccinology.
This position is offered full-time on a fixed-term contract initially for one year with the possibility to extend provided further external funding is available.

You will have a registered nursing qualification, supplemented by relevant post-qualification experience in a clinical research or paediatric nursing role, with proven and demonstrable technical skills, including research study coordination, venepuncture, clinical assessment and data collection. You will possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. You will have highly effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff and an ability to operate effectively in a demanding and dynamic research environment.
