Research and Innovation Operations Manager

This six-month secondment offers an exciting opportunity to provide operational leadership to the Research and Innovation service during a period of transformation. Working closely with the Pro Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation, the postholder will play a key role in strengthening team performance, improving processes and governance, embedding new ways of working, and supporting the development of a revised service structure. The role is ideally suited to an experienced manager who can bring clarity, coordination and pace to operational delivery, enabling the team to work effectively and focus on achieving its strategic objectives.

You will bring operational management experience, alongside a proven ability to support continuous improvement and organisational change initiatives. Skilled in building effective partnerships, you will have experience of working collaboratively with external service providers and stakeholders, including those in international or transnational settings.

You will be highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. An excellent communicator with strong written, verbal and presentation skills, you will be confident in developing positive relationships and influencing a wide range of stakeholders at all levels, both within and beyond the University. Adaptable, collaborative and solutions-focused, you will work flexibly with others to achieve shared goals and deliver high-quality outcomes.
