Research Fellow in Human Genetics (Rare Cardiovascular Disease)

Institute of Health Informatics is looking to appoint a Research Fellow in Human Genetics (Rare Cardiovascular Disease) to join our welcoming and vibrant Institute.

The Research Fellow in Human Genetics must have (PhD in Statistics, Epidemiology, Genetics, Computer Science or a related numerate discipline, or relevant working experience as well excellent programming and data visualisation skills in Python and R; and ability to write code that clearly expresses its purpose, and is readily used by others maintained and extended. The role holder will have experience with large-scale data processing, including data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing (e.g. SQL, PySpark), and analysis.

UCL established the Institute of Health Informatics (IHI) in August 2014 in the Faculty of Population Health Sciences. The aim of IHI is to conduct high quality data-intensive research to improve health at local, national, and international levels.

The post is full-time (36.5 hours per week) and the post is funded until 30 September 2029. Further funding may become available.
Appointment at Grade 7 (£46,261 - £54,019 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance) is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6B (£39,807 - £42,891 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis., We will consider applicates to work on a part-time, flexible and job share wherever possible.
