Research Assistant

You will coordinate the set-up of all research studies within the Trust with an imaging component that require the services of Radiology. You will be well supported in a friendly team of administrators, practitioners, nurses and clinicians within the Oxford Radiology Research Unit., This post is part of the Oxford Radiology Research Unit (ORRU) at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. • Educational and Development Responsibilities, The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
  
  The Research Assistant is a critical role that will be based at the Churchill Hospital. You will be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills and must be able to demonstrate excellent teamwork, resilience and a real 'can do' attitude., You do not need to be familiar with research language or methodologies as this will form part of the induction to your role. We are keen to find a research administrator with exceptional administrative capabilities and understand that research may not be an area you have considered before.
You will be the main point of contact for research services offered by the Radiology Research Unit, and you will play a key role in delivering high quality support to researchers and service users to guide the department in its prioritisation of tasks. You will have strong coordination skills and excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with different departments. Forming good working relationships is integral to the role. You will be organised and methodical, able to prioritise and work well under pressure, with a positive approach. You will have the ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential information appropriately, applying accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of your work.,
• GCSE English language grade C or equivalent
• Qualification in computer based office software, eg. Microsoft Office 365, or equivalent knowledge and experience
• Functional skills in information, communication and technology

• Relevant qualification in administration or project management
• Understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Experience of working within an administrative environment
• Experience of dealing professionally with queries
• Experience of using own initiative to implement new processes

• Experience of working within a research, NHS, university, or other public sector
• Experience of supporting a range of projects delivered to a deadline
• Experience of ordering goods or services, financial invoicing, etc., Possess good literacy and numeracy skills
• Ability to methodically plan, organise, monitor, and prioritise own workload

• Knowledge of research governance or trial regulations
• Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Team-player with the ability to work independently
• Positive and enthusiastic attitude towards tasks
• Work well within a multi-disciplinary team environment
