Full Job Description

The purpose of this post is to provide comprehensive support to the Researchers and the research teams. The Clerical / Research Assistant will be expected to perform a variety of clinical and clerical research duties within a research environment. They will assist with patient's study visits and clinical trial procedures. This will include clinical tasks such as venepuncture, vital signs, collection, processing (including centrifugation, freezing, handling of dry ice) and shipping of biological specimens according to protocol requirements. The clerical duties will involve collection of patient data from medical notes, completion of case report forms (CRF's), data inputting and providing general admin support., The role will include (though not limited to)

  • Venepuncture

  • Contacting patients/arranging taxis
  • Training will be provided as necessary.

  • NVQ3 in relevant subject or equivalent
  • A typing qualification, Essential criteria

  • Experience of working in a Health Care setting, Medical Terminology, Good working knowledge of Hospital information systems, Good communication skills - written and verbal
  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to use tact and a sensitive approach to patients and relatives
