Oxford Population Health (the Nuffield Department of Population Health) provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching and for professional and support staff. We work together to answer some of the most important questions about the causes, prevention and treatment of disease.


We are seeking a research assistant to join our team. The postholder will contribute to a new pilot study entitled 'Blood Biomarkers of Neurodegeneration and Cognitive Recovery in Adults with Alcohol Use Disorder'. The primary focus of this role will be recruitment and assessment of participants with alcohol problems at the Oxford-based addiction charity Turning Point. This will involve conducting structured interviews, administering mental health questionnaires, performing cognitive testing, taking finger prick blood samples, and maintaining accurate study records and data entry. The postholder may also have the opportunity to contribute to data analysis for this pilot study and/or other large datasets used within the group, depending on skills and interests.


To be considered you must hold a MSc degree in a relevant discipline e.g psychology, neuroscience, biomedical sciences and have relevant research or clinical experience.


This is a full-time, fixed-term post for 1 year. We welcome part-time applications, including at 50% FTE.
