Full Job Description

As a Senior Repairs Officer, you'll play a key role in ensuring complex and high-value repairs are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively and to a high standard. Working within the Repairs team, you'll provide technical expertise, leadership and oversight across complex responsive repairs cases, helping to ensure residents receive an excellent service and that issues are resolved quickly and effectively. You'll support Repairs Officers and operational teams by acting as a technical expert, leading on challenging cases, scrutinising complex repairs and variations, and ensuring contractor performance meets expectations. Through your work, you'll help improve the resident journey, maintain safe homes and drive continuous improvement across the repairs service. How you'll do it

  • Provide technical guidance and support to Repairs Officers, acting as the first point of escalation for complex repairs cases.
  • Review and assess complex repairs, variations and contractor quotations, ensuring value for money and compliance with financial procedures.
  • Monitor repairs performance, ensuring works are progressed efficiently and completed to a high standard.
  • Lead on contractor performance reviews, identifying improvements and ensuring KPIs and service standards are met.
  • Support regular cost and quality audits, providing insight into performance, risks and trends across the repairs service.
  • Work closely with residents, contractors and colleagues to understand repair needs, resolve issues and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Coach and mentor Repairs Officers, supporting their development and helping to build a high-performing team.
  • Deputise for the Team Manager when required, including supporting meetings, performance management activity and service improvement initiatives.

  • Pending confirmation of legislative changes, this role may require a qualification to demonstrate competence. If not already qualified, there may be an expectation to study towards a professional qualification. Essential:
  • Experience developing and managing administrative systems and processes.
  • Strong organisational skills, with experience managing competing priorities in a busy environment.
  • Experience monitoring performance and providing commentary against business targets.
  • Experience working to KPIs and driving service performance.
  • Good understanding of relevant legislation, statutory requirements and regulatory obligations.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering excellent outcomes.
  • Ability to present information confidently to stakeholders and chair meetings effectively.
  • Experience of budget monitoring and financial scrutiny.
