Full Job Description

We are pleased to share an opportunity for someone to us as a Rent Advisor.
As a Rent Advisor, you will contact tenants who have missed rent payments or are at risk of falling into rent debt. You will support tenants by completing income & expenditure forms and gaining insight into their individual circumstances, enabling you to put realistic action plans into place.
The Role
Contact tenants who have missed rent payments or are at risk of falling into arrears, supporting them by completing income and expenditure assessments to understand their circumstances and agree realistic action plans.
Maintain regular contact until accounts are no longer at risk, keeping accurate records and contributing to reducing overall rent debt and increasing tenants paying in advance.
Provide advice on welfare benefits, including complex Universal Credit cases, assist with applications, and signpost to relevant support agencies.
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners (e.g. DWP, Citizens Advice, Local Authorities) to resolve wider issues such as repairs, anti-social behaviour, and property concerns.
Contribute to delivering the organisation's vision of "Housing Made Simple," ensuring compliance with legal and policy requirements while supporting tenants effectively.

Experience in a customer-focused role (face-to-face or telephone) or transferable experience, with a strong willingness to learn.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear written correspondence and confidently handle conversations about sensitive topics.
Strong numerical confidence and the ability to assess financial information accurately.
Calm and resilient approach, with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations and manage a varied workload effectively using data to prioritise tasks.
A proactive, people-focused individual who can build trust, ask the right questions, and achieve positive outcomes for tenants.
A team player at any career stage-whether starting out or seeking a new challenge-who is motivated to develop and make a difference with full support provided.

In return for your hard work, we offer a competitive salary of £29,497.50 per annum and a benefits package that includes:
25 days annual leave (increasing to 28 days with length of service), with the ability to buy and sell leave.
Access to the Flagship Rewards Scheme offering savings on groceries and VIP rewards.
Death in Service Benefit.
Company Sick Pay.
An agile working environment to achieve a healthy work/life balance.
and that's not all! We're also proud to offer:
Opportunities for development (including apprenticeships, our Academy, and various training options).
Health and well-being programs and initiatives.
Empowerment (we give you the tools and systems to make the right decisions for resolving issues).
A Leadership Team that inspires, develops, and supports you.
